Jacks or Better

This is the most commonly played variation of video poker where the minimum requirement for a payout is a pair of jacks. Any hand worse than that goes unrewarded. When played with perfect strategy on full pay Jacks or better has a house edge of 0.46%.

Tens or Better

Just like Jacks or Better except the minimum payout is a pair of tens rather than a pair of Jacks. There are also some differences in the payoff for a full house and a flush to cover the fact that the player has more chance of winning due to Tens paying out.

Deuces Wild

In this variation of video poker, twos are counted as wild. This means they can act as any other number in order to help the player make the best hand possible. For this game the four of a kind payout is around a third of the game’s payback percentage as it will occur approximately every fifteen hands. Some versions of Deuces Wild played on full pay have a house edge of -0.76%, meaning they shield yield a profit in the long run if played with perfect video poker strategy.

Bonus Poker

This video poker variation is actually a slightly different version of Jacks or Better. The only difference really being that four of a kind has a larger payout in this version. A minimum of Jacks or better also applies to this game as a minimum payout. The bonus payout for four of a kind can vary from machine to machine which meaning the house edge will also vary. The bigger the bonus, the smaller the house edge.

Double Bonus

Double Bonus works in a similar way to Bonus Poker (still based on Jacks or Better) except the bonus payout is on four aces rather than four of a kind. When played with perfect video poker strategy on full pay the house edge can be -0.17%.

Double Double Bonus

Double Double Bonus is very much like Bonus Poker except the four of a kind payouts vary depending on which four of a kind is dealt. When played on full pay with perfect video poker strategy the house edge can reach -0.067%.
