Baccarat Games

There are three generally accepted versions of Baccarat, baccarat chemin de fer (also known as railway), baccarat banque (also known as deux tableaux) and punto banco (also known as North American baccarat).These games have the same tableau with slightly different drawing rules. Punto Banco may offer odds of 19/20 when betting on the banco hand,and odds of 8/1 for the tied hand.

The game of Punto Banco involves no set skills or strategies. It is often the case in casinos that the most popular games are the games that are completely based on chance and involve no skill as they are easier to pick up and there is also less pressure on the player because if they happen to lose their money it is not their fault, they were simply unlucky and had no choice about how they played the game. In Punto Banco the players moves are determined by the cards that they are dealt. However, in the other two versions of the game, Baccarat Banque and Baccarat Chermin de Fer, the player is able to make his own choices and skill has a large bearing on the outcome of the game.

The games of Baccarat Banque and Baccarat Chermin de Fer are much more complex than Punto Banco and more suited to live play amongst multiple players whereas Punto Banco is much simpler and is a straight matchup between the player and dealer which makes it much more suited to fast, online play.
